1!$$%&&'=/2!89Quick Start Installation INSTALLATION For The ICC-6 - Serial Interface ICC-6 Plug a regular household phone line into the modular phone plug of the ICC-5. Plug the DB25 into an available comm. port on the rear of your computer. If your available comm. port is a DB9, use a DB25 to DB9 converter, or a DB25 to DB9 modem cable. This cable MUST be a modem cable. (all pins straight through) INSTALLATION For The Caller-ids 5.3 Software "Important" If you are upgrading Caller-ids software from Ver 4.3 or earlier, the records file is incompatible with ver 5.3!!, COPY your records file, to another directory. Install Caller-ids. Copy your old records file back to the c:\ids directory. From the DOS prompt, in the c:\ids directory, Type patch and press enter. This will convert your old records file to ver 5.3. - Software From Windows 3.1 Program Manager access the directory which contains the Caller IDS files and double click on the file 'setup.exe'. Follow all prompts and you're ready to go. To start the program, double click on the caller-ids icon. Configuration Register From the 'Help' pull down menu select 'Register'. Enter the serial number and registration key number. You will find these numbers on the setup disk. The key number must be entered in caps. Fill in your name or company and click on register. You must enter a name or company in the Name field. Once this software has been registered, you can not go back into this menu. So be sure you type the information correctly. Software Configuration: Interface type 1. From the pull down menu 'Config' select interface type, then click the circle for the type of interface you are using. 2. If you have name delivery service from the telephone company, check the box for name delivery service. 3. If you are using the Zoom, Supra or practical caller-id compatible modem, you must enable the caller-id feature on the modem. Most modems use the AT command string "AT#CID=1". Check the manufacturers manual that came with your modem for the correct init string setting for your modem. Enter the modem init string needed to enable caller-id on your modem in the global init string field. Caller-ids will send this string to your modem every time you start the program. You must have your modem turned on before starting the Called-ids program. If your modem is not turned on, you will get a error message that your modem is not responding. 4. Click on OK. The progam will then display the interface port slection window. Select the comm. port that is being used for called-id. Click on the save button. You should get a "PORT OK" at the top left of the window. If you dont, check your hardware and Windows software for correct comm port addressing, and interrupt settings. Once you get a "PORT OK" after clicking the save button, click on the OK button. The program will automatically restart to load your selections. 5. Select reverse format if while running the program, the name comes up where the phone number should be. 6. Select no area code if your local phone company does not send the area code information with the phone number. 7. Select Number in hex if your local phone company sends the caller-id phone number field in HEX format. These steps should get you up and running with caller-ids.
